Supporting Activities to Prevent, Halt, and Reverse the Loss of Nature

Our Foundation has made a donation to the “Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation”, a global movement that works to conserve plants, animals, and habitats, and encourages youth and organizations to restore all types of ecosystems—including forests, farmland, cities, wetlands, and oceans—and fight for climate justice. The aforementioned organization presented our Foundation with a certificate of appreciation regarding the donation.

Revitalizing Damaged Ecosystems Has Become an Urgent Need.

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation stated:

“Ecosystems support all life on Earth. The healthier our ecosystems are, the healthier our planet and our people are. The restoration of ecosystems, both large and small, protects and improves the livelihoods of the people who depend on them. It also helps to regulate diseases and reduce the risk of natural disasters. However, these efforts will only succeed if everyone does their part. As a Foundation, we will continue to support international organizations like the ‘Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation’ that work to protect nature and the environment.”

Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation

The Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation is a global movement that began in January 2007 when 9-year-old Felix called on children to plant a million trees in every country. It encourages youth and organizations to restore forest ecosystems and fight for climate justice. To do this, it trains children, restores ecosystems, conducts restoration research, and provides free software tools and restoration advice to organizations worldwide. It aims to protect the three trillion trees in the world and bring back another one trillion trees.

The donations and aid projects mentioned here were made by the founders of our Foundation, Nurten Tatlıcı and her son Uğur Tatlıcı, in memory of the late Salih Tatlıcı, the benevolent person whose name continues to live on through our Foundation and whom they bid farewell in journey to eternity in 2009.
