We Support Civil Society To Protect Human Rights

Berlin-based international human rights NGO that works to protect democracies from authoritarianism, pressures the European Union to use its power and influence over governments and technology companies to protect fundamental freedoms, and works to ensure that companies and governments use technology to improve our lives instead of monitoring and controlling people. Our foundation made a donation to the European Civil Liberties Union.

Human Rights Provide Us With The Tools To Build The Lives We Want To Live And The Communities We Want To Live In.

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, stated: To achieve peace in our world, to combat poverty and hunger, to advance human rights, and to build a more sustainable world, all nations must work together. Looking to the future, we face challenges on a dizzying scale: increasing conflicts, climate chaos, out-of-control technologies, and threats to humanity. Now, more than ever, the world must commit itself to solving problems that no single nation can solve alone. As a Foundation, we too contribute to activities to defend the freedom of movement of human rights defenders and the universality of rights..

The Civil Liberties Union for Europe

The Civil Liberties Union for Europe The European Civil Liberties Union (ECRU) is a watchdog organization protecting the human rights of everyone in the European Union. It works closely with its member network in Brussels and across the 20 EU countries. It does not accept funding from state institutions, agencies, or other entities owned or controlled by them, even if these entities are presented independently. Its work aims to ensure that everyone in the EU can enjoy and exercise their fundamental rights and freedoms.

The donations and aid projects mentioned here were made by the founders of our Foundation, Nurten Tatlıcı and her son Uğur Tatlıcı, in memory of the late Salih Tatlıcı, the benevolent person whose name continues to live on through our Foundation and whom they bid farewell in journey to eternity in 2009.

Happy “World Migratory Bird Day”

World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is an annual awareness-raising campaign launched in 2006, highlighting the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated every year on the second Saturday in October.

Our Foundation has made a donation to “BirdLife International”, the largest international partnership in nature conservation, to support vital international work that can help ALBATROSSES—which have mastered the oceans for millions of years, traveled thousands of miles, and braved the fiercest storms to navigate endless horizons—to remain forever off the hook, and prevent the death of tens of thousands of albatrosses and hundreds of thousands of seabirds. A certificate of appreciation was presented to our Foundation by the organization regarding the donation.

Migratory birds connect people, ecosystems, and nations by rejuvenating our spirit and reminding us of nature as they traverse the globe.

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation stated:

“As the seasons change, millions of migratory birds embark on their incredible journeys across plains, seas, and mountains, crossing many international borders along the way. As our world rapidly urbanizes and natural habitats come under increasing threat, creating bird-friendly cities and communities where birds can rest, refuel, and breed must be our most important goal. Up to 100,000 albatrosses are unintentionally killed each year due to equipment used in commercial fishing. Shared urban areas that provide safe spaces and routes for migratory birds will benefit all of us. Together, we can continue to protect migratory birds and everything they do for people and the planet. World Migratory Bird Day is an opportunity to appreciate migratory birds and the Earth’s natural cycles, which are vital for human well-being. Therefore, as a Foundation, we considered it our duty to donate to ‘BirdLife International’, an organization that works to conserve birds, their habitats, and global biodiversity.”
