World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at tackling the global mismanaged waste crisis, including the marine litter problem. It is coordinated by “Let’s Do It World”, a global non-governmental organization headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. As of 2024, “World Cleanup Day” has been officially declared a United Nations Dayto be held every year on September 20.
On the occasion of “World Cleanup Day”, our Foundation made a donation to the “Let’s Do It World” organization to support efforts for a cleaner and more beautiful world.
The aforementioned organization presented our Foundation with a certificate of appreciation regarding the donation.
Let’s Take Action Today to Leave a Liveable World for Future Generations.
Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation stated:
“Protecting the balance of nature is the responsibility of all of us. Plastic pollution is choking our planet, harming ecosystems, prosperity, and the climate. Marine litter, including plastic, paper, wood, metal, and other processed materials, is found on beaches worldwide and in all depths of the ocean. Every second, a truckload of clothes is dumped into landfills or burned. The fashion industry produces 92 million tons of textile waste annually, collapsing waste systems, polluting waterways, and fueling the climate crisis. It takes effort not just for one day, but every day, to leave a liveable world for future generations.
Happy World Cleanup Day, with the wish that everyone lives in a healthy, clean, and undamaged world.”
