United Nations General Assembly decided in 2009 to designate April 22nd as “International Mother Earth Day. On this occasion, our foundation made a donation to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the world’s foremost conservation organization operating in nearly 100 countries for 60 years, dedicated to stopping the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and creating a future where humanity lives in harmony with nature.The foundation management presented our foundation with a thank-you letter regarding the donation.
We must take action to create a better future for all of us, and we must act now.
Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our foundation stated, “Repairing the relationship with Mother Earth is the mother of all humanity’s challenges. We depend on nature for the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. However, we have brought chaos to the natural world: We have poisoned our planet with pollution, destroyed species and ecosystems, and destabilized our climate with greenhouse gas emissions. These actions not only harm nature but also pose a threat to humanity. We must work together to restore harmony with nature, embrace sustainable production and consumption, protect ourselves from harm, while creating employment, reducing poverty, and promoting sustainable development.
