As the Salih Tatlici foundation, we have made a donation to BRAC, a Bangladesh-based international development organization dedicated to empowering individuals and communities in the face of poverty, education challenges, health issues, and social injustice. This contribution reflects our commitment to supporting the prosperity of the people of our friendly and brotherly nation, Bangladesh.

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board member of our Foundation stated: “The determination, awareness, and leadership demonstrated by students across Bangladesh are truly inspiring. BRAC (Building Resources Across Communities)

BRAC is an international development organization based in Bangladesh. To receive foreign donations, BRAC later registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of Bangladesh. As of September 2016, BRAC is the world’s largest civil society development organization in terms of workforce.

Founded in 1972 in the aftermath of Bangladesh’s War of Independence, BRAC was established by Sir Fazle Hasan Abed and a group of young freedom fighters with a vision to create a world free from exploitation and discrimination. The organization operates across all 64 districts of Bangladesh, as well as in 16 countries across Asia, Africa, and the Americas. It employs more than 90,000 people, approximately 70% of whom are women, and reaches over 126 million individuals through its services.

The donations and aid projects mentioned here were made by the founders of our Foundation, Nurten Tatlıcı and her son Uğur Tatlıcı, in memory of the late Salih Tatlıcı, the benevolent person whose name continues to live on through our Foundation and whom they bid farewell in journey to eternity in 2009.
