Six Dots Association for the Blind

Six Dots Association for the Blind is one of our oldest and most well-established organizations in this field, which was founded in 1950 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mithat ENÇ, who is also a person with visual disabilities, in order to enable those with visual disabilities to grow up as self-sufficient, productive and socially-integrated individuals in our country, and to find solutions to their social, educational, cultural and professional problems. The organization, which draws attention with its works, gained the status of an association working for the “Public Benefit” with the decision of the Council of Ministers in 1958.

The association, whose members and managers are all with visual disabilities, is an active member of the Turkish Federation of the Blind and maintains its cooperation with the European Blind Union and the World Blind Union.

The Six Dots Association for the Blind, which has branches in 31 cities, has around 6,500 members with visual disabilities. To date, it has carried out many social and cultural projects, especially in education and employment, for those with visual disabilities.

The donations and aid projects mentioned here were made with the personal income of the founders of our Foundation, Nurten Tatlıcı and her son Uğur Tatlıcı, in memory of the late Salih Tatlıcı, the benevolent person whose name continues to live on through our Foundation and whom they bid farewell in journey to eternity in 2009.
