We Celebrate the Medical Day of All Health Workers, Especially Our Physicians
Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, said: “We are grateful to all health workers who rushed to the relief of people with devotion and determination without discrimination of religion, language, race, gender, sect, without separating day and night, snow and mud, vacation and holiday, first in the pandemic we experienced in our country and all over the world, and then in the great earthquake disaster that occurred in our country on February 6, 2023. We celebrate the March 14th Medical Day of all our supreme-hearted physicians and health workers. We also sincerely thank all the world’s physicians and health workers, especially the Doctors Without Borders organization, who rushed to medical relief due to the great earthquake disaster we experienced as a country.“
“Médecins Sans Frontiéres – Doctors Without Borders”
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was founded in Paris in 1971 by a group of journalists and doctors. Today, it is an independent worldwide movement of around 63,000 people. Their teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistics, and administrative staff who are bound by their statutes. The principles of medical ethics, independence, and impartiality guide their actions. It is a non-profit, self-governing, member-based organization. MSF provides assistance to populations in distress, victims of natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict. They do so regardless of race, religion, beliefs, or political convictions. In the name of universal medical ethics and the right to humanitarian assistance, MSF observes impartiality and neutrality and demands full and unhindered freedom in the exercise of its functions. Members commit to respecting the code of professional ethics and maintaining complete independence from all political, economic, or religious forces. As volunteers, members understand the risks and dangers of the tasks they carry out and make no claims for themselves or their appointees for any compensation that the association can afford.
