The late businessman Salih Tatlıcı’s wife Nurten Tatlıcı and their son Uğur Tatlıcı donated scholarships to the National Education Foundation to support our children and youth in need, from elementary school to college.

Regarding the donation,Uğur Tatlıcı stated,“We will continue our support for the education of our children and youth, to whom we will entrust our future, as well as institutions and organizations in our country that are engaged in activities aimed at protecting nature and the environment.My father was a successful businessman who started working at a very young age and left his education to support his family after elementary school and started his own business, and he attached great importance to education.While he was alive, he made large donations to education and would like us to continue to do so. Together with my mother, we are trying to fulfill hisoral will.”

The National Education Foundation was established on February 19, 1981 by the leading business people, academics, and bureaucrats of our country, including VehbiKoç and SakıpSabancı, and started its activities under the name of the Ministry of National Education Foundation.The Foundation, which became stronger with the support and donations of our citizens and business people, changed its name to the National Education Foundation in 1986.
The Foundation, which is among the non-governmental organizations that provide the greatest support to national education in our country, has given non-refundable scholarships to 26,000 students, in addition to having 128 Schools, 7 Student Dormitories, 5 Teachers’Guest Houses, 2 Teachers’Social Clubs built since its establishment, and by increasing all these, it aims to continue to support the needs of students and teachers in education.
