Support from our Foundation for Animals to Live Safely in Their Natural Environments

We made a donation to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), an organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and releases animals in over 40 countries, restores and protects their natural habitats, improves animal welfare, conducts global efforts to strengthen the human-animal bond worldwide, and works to combat all forms of cruelty toward animals. The organization presented our Foundation with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of the donation.

Making a Difference Starts with Taking Action

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation stated:

“Every animal is part of a species, and every species depends on its habitat to survive. When an animal is rescued—whether it’s a pet abandoned in a hurricane, a dairy cow displaced by an earthquake, or a whale caught in a net—we are doing much more than just saving a life. A family is reunited. A community’s livelihood is restored. A species on the brink of extinction is saved. Our planet is saved. As a Foundation, we have made it our duty to donate to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), an organization that fights against animal abuse and promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle for all animals.”

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW)

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is a global, non-profit organization that helps animals and people thrive together. Since 1969, they have believed that every animal matters and have worked toward that end. Founded in Canada by Brian Davies, IFAW’s original purpose was to stop seal hunting in Canada, but over time, it has expanded its support to a wider area, working to protect, rescue, rehabilitate, and release endangered animals and species worldwide. It restores and protects natural habitats. By partnering with local communities, governments, civil society organizations, and businesses, they are pioneering new and innovative ways to help all species thrive.

The donations and aid projects mentioned here were made by the founders of our Foundation, Nurten Tatlıcı and her son Uğur Tatlıcı, in memory of the late Salih Tatlıcı, the benevolent person whose name continues to live on through our Foundation and whom they bid farewell in journey to eternity in 2009.
