We celebrate the Mother’s Day of all mothers, the most sacred source of love

Mothers, as examples of beautiful emotions like love, compassion, and self-sacrifice, are the most precious treasures of our lives. There are very few human emotions that can compare to a mother’s compassion for her child.

While fulfilling the responsibilities and duties we have undertaken, we should not forget that our mothers’ blessings are one of our most important sources of strength.

We celebrate Mother’s Day of all mothers, especially the precious mothers of our martyrs, who are entrusted to us by our sacred martyrs.

Happy International Mother Earth Day

United Nations General Assembly decided in 2009 to designate April 22nd as “International Mother Earth Day. On this occasion, our foundation made a donation to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the world’s foremost conservation organization operating in nearly 100 countries for 60 years, dedicated to stopping the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and creating a future where humanity lives in harmony with nature. The foundation management presented our foundation with a thank-you letter regarding the donation.

We must take action to create a better future for all of us, and we must act now.

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our foundation stated, “Repairing the relationship with Mother Earth is the mother of all humanity’s challenges. We depend on nature for the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. However, we have brought chaos to the natural world: We have poisoned our planet with pollution, destroyed species and ecosystems, and destabilized our climate with greenhouse gas emissions. These actions not only harm nature but also pose a threat to humanity. We must work together to restore harmony with nature, embrace sustainable production and consumption, protect ourselves from harm, while creating employment, reducing poverty, and promoting sustainable development. Salih Tatlıcı Foundation will continue to do its part to protect nature and the environment”

WWF – World Wide Fund for Nature

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), headquartered in Switzerland, is an international non-governmental organization aiming to halt the degradation of nature and to repair the damage caused. Established in 1961 as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the organization changed its name to its current form with an expanded scope of work. With over 2,000 conservation projects supported worldwide and nearly 4,000 employees, WWF is considered the largest environmental organization globally. Its projects span across more than 100 countries, addressing climate change, forests, freshwater, oceans, species, and sustainability. The primary goal of WWF is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to create a future where humanity lives in harmony with nature.

The donations and aid projects mentioned here were made by the founders of our Foundation, Nurten Tatlıcı and her son Uğur Tatlıcı, in memory of the late Salih Tatlıcı, the benevolent person whose name continues to live on through our Foundation and whom they bid farewell in journey to eternity in 2009.

Support from our foundation for “World Autism Awareness Day

As a foundation, we made a donation to “Autism-Europe aisbl,” an international organization dedicated to improving the rights of individuals with autism and their families and enhancing their quality of life.

Providing a better life for children with autism should be the responsibility of every individual.

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, said: “In 2008, the United Nations declared April 2nd as ‘World Autism Awareness Day’ globally to raise awareness about autism and find solutions to related issues. Autism is believed to result from a process that affects the structure or function of the brain, characterized by a child’s inability to establish sufficient social relationships, significant developmental problems in language-communication, and exhibiting obsessive behaviors. With the prevalence of autism increasing each year and now affecting nearly one in 68 children, efforts are being made through organized events to facilitate the integration of autistic individuals into society. Alongside governments, we as individuals should consider this a social responsibility and citizenship duty, and exert efforts accordingly. As a foundation, we aspire for our autistic children to participate in social life and meet their needs as independently as possible. On the occasion of April 2nd, World Autism Awareness Day, we extend our love and respect with the hope that our autistic children can lead happy lives, socialize, and benefit from education and health services to meet their basic needs in the best and most appropriate manner.”

Autism-Europe

Autism-Europe, established in 1983 and recognized under Belgian law as a non-profit international organization, advocates for European policymakers to develop better policy responses to the needs of autistic individuals. It also strives to promote greater awareness and understanding of autism in society. Comprising approximately 90 member associations from 40 countries, it represents an estimated 7 million people across Europe. Advocates and families play a central role in the organization, which is recognized by European institutions as a significant representative network for autistic individuals and families in Europe. Autism-Europe’s mission is to improve the quality of life for all individuals and families across the autism spectrum in Europe.

As the Salih Tatlici Foundation, we commemorate the 15th anniversary of Salih Tatlıcı’s death today with respect and longing.

For this reason, in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the death of my esteemed father Salih Tatlıcı, we have donated to TEMA, which has been carrying out very important activities for many years to protect natural assets and develop afforestation areas, as well as combating erosion and desertification in our country. We are deeply saddened by the loss of my dear husband, my dear father. In the 15th year since he left us in deep pain, his absence continues to hurt us like an irreparable wound, and we feel an indescribable longing.

4 February World Cancer Day Donation from our Foundation

On the occasion of World Cancer Day on 4 February, our Foundation has donated to “The Brazilian Cancer Foundation“, a non-profit foundation based in Brazil, which promotes strategic actions for the prevention and control of cancer on behalf of the general public, raises funds and invests in programs and projects related to cancer prevention, early detection, as well as palliative care and research. A certificate of appreciation was presented to our Foundation from the aforementioned organisation.

We Can Defeat Cancer by Fighting Together

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, said: “It is possible together to build a future where people live healthier lives and have better access to health and cancer services regardless of where they were born, where they grew up, and regardless of their age! It is necessary to know, care, protect against cancer and take early action without delaying the diagnosis. On the occasion of 4 February World Cancer Day, we, as the Foundation, wish a speedy recovery to all our citizens who are struggling with this disease, which requires a difficult and long treatment, and to all cancer patients around the world.”

THE BRAZILIAN CANCER FOUNDATION

The Brazilian Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 under the legal name Fundação Ary Frauzino para Pesquisa e Controle do Câncer, paying homage to the doctor who directed INCA from 1980 to 1985. As the original name of the foundation was a bit long, it soon became known as Ary Frauzino. In 2008, the name was simplified and the brand reformulated to facilitate communication with all sectors of society. The legal name Fundação Ary Frauzino para Pesquisa e Controle do Câncer was retained, but the simpler name Cancer Foundation was also adopted for public communication. In addition to the summary name, the slogan “with you for life” was added to more succinctly convey the lifelong commitment to everyone’s life and health. The symbol of the new trademark was inspired by the awareness ribbons used to encourage people to sign up to great causes. The best known of these is the red ribbon symbolising the fight against AIDS. However, each colour symbolises a different cause. The ribbon used by the Cancer Foundation is purple, symbolising the fight to defeat cancer.

The Brazilian Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organisation that raises funds and invests in programmes and projects related to cancer prevention, early detection, assistance, bone marrow and umbilical cord blood transplantation, as well as palliative care and research. Its mission is to promote strategic actions for the prevention and control of cancer on behalf of society at large, as well as to support the Brazilian National Cancer Institute (INCA) and all the activities of the Brazilian National Cancer Control Programme. It also provides consultancy services to states and municipalities throughout Brazil to improve their processes in cancer treatment (Oncological Attention Plan).
