Our Foundation Supports the Rehabilitation of Down Syndrome

As the Salih Tatlici Foundation, we have donated to the “Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid” (Down Madrid), a non-profit non-governmental organisation in Spain, to ensure the individual autonomy and full socialisation of people with Down syndrome and other people with different intellectual disabilities, and to provide immediate and effective support to children, families and individuals with disabilities.

We Support Projects that Add Value to Life

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, said: “As the Foundation, we will continue to support all projects that add value to life by working continuously to announce Down Syndrome, to raise social awareness, to carry out projects that affect the perception of disability in society, to combat the discrimination faced by individuals with Down Syndrome at every age and position from infancy, to provide equal opportunities and to strengthen their indispensable place in society, in short, to improve their quality of life and to ensure their full socialisation.”

Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid

Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid (Down Madrid) is a non-profit organisation of public interest, born more than 30 years ago as a result of the enthusiasm and work of a group of families who came together to create a meeting point for families and professionals dedicated to “Down Syndrome”.

Its aim is to ensure the individual autonomy and full socialisation of people with Down syndrome and other people with different intellectual disabilities. The mission of “Down Madrid” is to defend the right to life and dignity of people with Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities, as well as their right to full family, school, work and socialisation and to improve their quality of life from birth to old age. It does this always with their participation and by placing them at the heart and centre of the organisation. The Foundation’s vision is the transformation of all societies into one in which people with intellectual disabilities are fully included and all their rights are recognised.

On the 78th Anniversary of the Tragedy in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, We Share the Sorrow of the Friendly Japanese Nation

On 6 and 9 August 1945, two atomic bombs exploded over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki respectively. The bombings killed between 129,000 and 226,000 people, most of them civilians. Wildlife was destroyed where the bombs were dropped. People became ill and continued to die later because of the radiation spread over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Since radiation also affected reproductive cells, babies were born with genetic disorders.

As the Foundation, we have donated to Friends of the Earth Japan (FoE Japan), a non-governmental organisation working in Japan and around the world to stop climate change, nuclear energy and deforestation, to share the pain of our Japanese friends.

All Nuclear Switches Must Be Made Meaningless Immediately

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, said: “Despite the tragedy that took place in Japan 78 years ago, the use of nuclear weapons in an armed conflict continues to be a threat today. Sharing the sorrow of our Japanese friends today is not only about remembering the terrible, albeit vital, loss of life in Hiroshima and Nagasaki 78 years ago but also about committing ourselves to work for humanity, for a better future, and for children not to die. As a human family, we must not forget the tragedy of these two cities. We must ensure that future generations know the destruction caused by nuclear weapons and are inspired to take action to eliminate the threat of nuclear weapons.”

Friends of the Earth – Japan

Since 1980, Friends of the Earth Japan* has been striving for a sustainable society where all life on the planet is in harmony and everyone can live in abundance. It works by bringing together all voices, even if each person’s voice is small, such as the voices of residents facing development projects, the voices of people who fear radiation damage, and the voices of the surrounding environment. It aims to create power together with citizens who want to stop climate change, nuclear power and deforestation. “Friends of the Earth Japan operates with the support of donors and volunteers

Our Foundation Supports Greenfinity Foundation

Forest fires increase all over the world during the summer months. These fires may occur consciously or unconsciously in tourism regions or in more desolate places such as picnic areas. As the Foundation, we have donated to the Greenfinity Foundation, which produces climate and environmental projects, especially forest areas, which are the guarantee of our future. Greenfinity Foundation presented a letter of thanks to our Foundation regarding the donation.

We Will Continue To Donate Saplings To Increase Our Forest Areas

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, said: “As is the case every summer, we are very saddened to receive news of forest fires almost every day, not only in our country but also in many parts of the world. Various measures should be taken in our country and all over the world to prevent forest fires. People should be constantly made aware of this issue. With the principle of sustainable life, we support voluntary, conscious, pioneering non-governmental organisations in our country and in the world that work on the basis of science for the protection of all-natural assets, especially our lands, and believe in social peace coming from the soil. We will always continue to do our part to protect nature and the environment.”

Our Foundation Supports Our Children’s Education

As the Foundation, we donated to Bursa Nilüfer Şehitler Secondary School to meet the “smart whiteboard” needs of our children so that they do not keep up with their peers in the world and can study better and more modern education.

Support For Education Is The Priority Of Our Foundation

Regarding the donation, Uğur Tatlıcı, Executive Board Member of our Foundation, said: “Today’s technology has provided innovations in the education sector as in every field. Technological products, which are the easiest way to access information, have started to be included among the educational tools and equipment in our schools. Today, thanks to technological products such as smart boards, the time, working capacity and convenience gained in education have been productive both for students and facilitated the work of teachers a little more. As the Foundation, we will continue to support education at every opportunity.”

What is a smart board?

Smart board products are technological products that provide students with an interactive education using the speed and flexibility of the computer. These products can connect to the internet and access video, text or websites and can also be preferred as a writing board.

Smart boards allow teachers to write and transfer information by touch without the need for apen. In this way, a much faster and more efficient infrastructure has been created in education.

The conveniences that the smart board introduces to education and training are as follows:

  • It allows the processing of all kinds of documents and data in the virtual environment.
  • It increases the teaching capacity of teachers and provides students with a pleasant educational
    experience.
  • It enables students to study more efficiently.
  • Thanks to interactive applications, it enables students to develop creative thinking ability.
  • It makes the lessons more permanent and professional.
  • Students and teachers can access the lessons taught at any time.
  • Finally, it is worth mentioning that it provides administrative savings since products such as
pencils and chalk are not needed.
